11 Years Ago Today....

Brandon and I had our first date 11 years ago today! It's just so astonishing to think that it has been that long. This brought me pause today to think of all the wonderful memories we have made along the way! It was a very boring day at work due to several cancellations because of the weather so I had a lot of time to recall all of the great times we have had! I came home to a very sweet surprise, ha, no pun intended! Brandon had made me chocolate, heart shaped cupcakes with chocolate frosting and chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting and pink writing that said, "I Luv U." How cute is he?! Notice the chocolate theme, my favorite. We had a wonderful desert together!

First "Real" Snowfall

We finally had our first "real" snowfall of the winter. The snow began to fall on Tuesday morning during Brandon's drive to work at 4:15 a.m. and continued to fall throughout the day. Now that I no longer work for the school system which closed schools for the day, I had to go into work. Some of my early morning clients did not want to make the drive so they cancelled which meant that I didn't have to head into work until 11:00. That definitely helped with the roadways. The drive wasn't too bad but the side streets weren't in the best shape. Only two of my clients showed up so I was able to leave early which was super awesome! The snow finally stopped, adding up to a total of 2 inches which crippled the area. Of course in true northern Virginia style, a snow storm cannot exist without turning to ice. Overnight, Tuesday into Wednesday, we started to get freezing rain. Again, the schools were closed on Wednesday but no snow day for me or so I thought! When I was on my way to work on icy roads, I received a phone call that our office was going to be closed for the morning until noon. Yay!! That's about as close to a snow day as I will get! So, I headed into work this afternoon only to find out that most of my clients had cancelled however, I did have 2 show up which was a plus!

Rusty LOVES the snow! He gets sooooo excited when we have snow that accumulates. He is so funny when he plays in the snow on our deck. He mostly just likes to eat it. He does like to try to catch snowballs too! It's very cute but also a bit annoying because he wants to go out ALL the time! Here are some pics so you can see just how much fun we had!
