I've been lacking in posting new information so I'm not sure where to start! First we needed a new layout!
Brandon and I went up to Erie at the beginning of April. We were able to meet with the florist who happens to be friends with my Aunt. We had a whirlwind of a meeting but we have a plan in place. Brandon took a picture of the page in the catalog that we are basing the flower scheme on. We are going to have a little less green and more lavender. This scheme will be perfect because not only will it tie in the bridesmaid dresses but it will also tie in the reception site room which is mostly blue. It was pretty exciting to watch this all come together. My bouquet will be cream roses with a bit of lavender freesia.
Jeanne had picked up my Grandma's pearls from the jewelers where we were having them cleaned, restrung and earrings made from extra pearls. They were better than I could ever want. I am so excited to wear them for the wedding. I also tried on my dress while in Erie and I still had the "it's the one" feeling when I put it on.
On Saturday, we travelled two hours over to my Dad's house. I needed to get Liz's dress to her so this worked out perfectly. Plus, I got to see my niece! She is getting so big and is now talking up a storm. I love it! We spent the night Saturday and then headed home on Sunday. On the way home, we stopped at Laura's house so that I could give her her dress as well. We met Laura's new addition, her puppy dog Bella. I was also able to update her on all of the wedding happenings!
Our invitations came in last week. They turned out better than I could have imagined. I am currently getting all of the addressing information together. The VA bridal shower and bachelorette party invites also went out last week thanks my wonderful bridesmaids. I am so looking forward to the shower and bachelorette party. Thanks so much to my Step-Mom Cindy, my Aunt Nancy and my Aunt Jeanne for planning the VA shower. It sounds like it is going to be so much fun! I am also currently working on printing out the ceremony program. I'm really trying to stay ahead because I know it is going to get very crazy.
All of the guys have now been measured for their tuxes and have submitted their measurements. All of the girls now have their dresses and are beginning the alteration process. I will be taking another trip to Erie this weekend for my first alteration appointment on Friday.
Brandon and I went out looking for wedding bands yesterday. One of the jewelry stores was having a huge sale and I was so lucky to find my wedding band. It matches my engagement ring so well and it was on super sale! I was super stoked. Brandon also found some rings that he liked but he still wants to look around. He is looking at getting a Tungsten ring as it is the strongest and most scratch resistant metal that they make in guy's rings which is definitely appropriate for him since he is so active. We were able to end the day with dinner at our new favorite Mediterranean restaurant!
Brandon's Mom has been busy planning the rehearsal dinner which has been great. My Mom has been busy spiffying up the wedding favors with labels that she created. She is also in the beginning stages of planning the NY shower which is scheduled for July 11th. Our families have been wonderful throughout the process. We are so appreciative of everyone!!!!
As of May 1st, we are only 3 months away from the big day! Wooohoooo!
